Jewfro: Meet Me at the Movies: Rosenwald

You honestly don't know what your natural hair even looks like anymore since you blow dry and straighten it the second you emerge from the shower. But your hair currently looks awesome and you can totally get away with not washing it for a solid two days if you skip the gym.

Maybe non-Jews feel less comfortable joking about a guy's cotton candy hair once it's labeled Jewish. A crack about Jew-fros from the flaxen-haired Jan Brady would tick me off, whereas Greg or Peter, who sported them in later seasons of "The Brady Bunch," could get away with it.

For example, let the crown with curly hair grow freely and at the same time, trimming the sides is a good way to show a different class of hairstyle.

Despite odd hairstyles being par for the course , a character with an afro (usually male) is very likely to have it mentioned by other people and by the plot. Nina Monet wears lots of odd hairstyles, including a yellow afro squashed flat.

For the growing number of African American women looking to make the move toward wearing their natural texture like those pictured in The Coiffure Project, Carol's Daughter has launched the Transitioning Movement.

As Bond says in the film, the people that Rosenwald supported "are the predecessor generation to the Civil Rights generation that I'm a part of.
